Suzuki Motor Corporation has announced its first fully electric vehicle, the e-Vitara, set to enter production in 2025. Unveiled in Milan, Italy, the e-Vitara marks Suzuki’s entry into the battery electric vehicle (BEV) market as its first globally strategic BEV model. Built on the foundation of the concept model 'Evx,' which debuted at India’s Auto Expo in January 2023, the e-Vitara reflects Suzuki's commitment to innovative, sustainable transportation.

Production in India with a Global Rollout in 2025

Production for the e-Vitara will take place at Suzuki’s facility in Gujarat, India, with plans to roll out sales across Europe, India, and Japan by summer 2025. This mass-market BEV aims to offer Suzuki customers a dependable, user-friendly electric vehicle that aligns with the company’s focus on environmental sustainability.

The e-Vitara enters an increasingly competitive electric vehicle segment currently led by models such as the Tata Curvv EV, the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, and Mahindra's BE 05. By expanding its vehicle lineup to include BEVs, hybrid options, and CNG vehicles, Suzuki aims to cater to diverse customer needs across different regions, in line with its vision for a carbon-neutral society.

At the unveiling, Toshihiro Suzuki, Representative Director and President of Suzuki Motor Corporation, shared insights into the e-Vitara’s development journey: “The e-Vitara is our first BEV, developed through extensive trial and error to create an accessible BEV for our customers. To achieve carbon neutrality, we will continue to provide a variety of vehicle options tailored to specific regions."

The e-Vitara is expected to bring new energy to Suzuki's lineup and represents a significant step forward in the company’s sustainability goals. Keep an eye on this groundbreaking model as it hits roads in 2025.
